First Class:

1. The genre of personal narrative is explained.

2. Examples of the genre are presented.

3. A writing prompt for the upcoming week is shared.

4. There is open time to brainstorm and ask questions.

Post Class:

5. A follow-up email on the prompt is sent to participants.

6. Participants draft a story in response to the prompt.

Second Class:

7. Participants read their pieces aloud to the group.

8. Following each reading, participants offer constructive feedback to the writer.

9. A new prompt is provided for the following week.

The sequence for the second class is repeated for the remainder of the workshop meetings.
